RENSON® Sonoslot® Trickle Vents Provide Economical Option for IAQ-Focused Window & Door Designs

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., September 16, 2015RENSON, a European developer and manufacturer of sun shading and ventilation system solutions, introduces “a breath of fresh air” in trickle vent options with the North American launch of its Sonoslot® line of slotvent window ventilators. 

At the economically priced end of RENSON’s complete spectrum of window vent solutions, the Sonoslot self-regulating, sound absorbing (up to 38 dB in its open position) trickle vent kit also offers several performance characteristics beyond those of competitive budget-conscious products. 

“With tighter building envelopes translating into the need for elevated IAQ standards across the country, trickle vents are being more widely integrated into U.S. window and door design specifications as a means of bringing fresh air indoors,” said Maxim De Vriese, export sales manager at RENSON.  “Thus, we are seeing new demand in North America for natural ventilation technologies that RENSON has refined over the course of several decades in Europe.  We’re excited to introduce Sonoslot as a new solution for the U.S. market’s trickle vent specification requirements, which addresses budgetary project limitations while still providing numerous performance benefits.” 

Comprised of a plastic sleeve with integrated sound-absorbing foam baffle in between exterior- and interior-installed trickle vent componentry, Sonoslot is available in 275, 375, 475 and 700 mm sizes.  Its proprietary self-regulating i-Flux® technology maintains uniform airflow, even during strong winds and drafts, and a perforated design also serves as an insect mesh solution.  The noise-dampening baffle includes a combination of sound absorbing foam (70 mm thickness) and a plastic sleeve (90 mm thickness), both of which can be adapted to a variety of window frame depths.  Sonoslot’s small, narrow and discretely designed aluminium interior component can be completely closed, and when open deflects airflow upward to prevent direct drafting
